Justin McCarthy
Executive Chair
Justin, who joined Townview as Executive Chair in Oct 2023, brings over two decades of experience in the Agri and beef sector, including roles with ABP and Teagasc. He served as Chief Livestock Editor at The Irish Farmers Journal from Aug 2005 to Mar 2013 and later as Editor from Mar 2013 to Mar 2023. Additionally, he most recently held the position of CEO at The Agricultural Trust, the parent company of The Irish Farmer’s Journal, from Jan 2014 to Mar 2023, overseeing various Agri and Irish Lifestyle publications.
Gerard Murphy
Financial Director
Gerard is a Chartered Accountant and has been with Roebuck (formerly Norish plc) since the acquisition of Townview Foods Ltd in October 2012, where he remains the Financial Controller. He was appointed Roebuck Food Group plc Company Secretary in April 2018. He holds a BSc in accounting from Queens University Belfast and a postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Accounts from the University of Ulster. Before joining Roebuck, Gerard worked as an Assistant Manager in the PWC audit and advisory unit.
Shane Mallon
Head of Commercial
Shane grew up working in the family wholesale meat business, so his interest in the meat industry and strong interest in all things food come as no surprise. He holds an MBS in Economics and Finance and had a short career in International Finance (Financial Derivatives) before returning to the meat business as an International Commodities Trader for Dawn International for over nine years, focusing on key markets such as China, the Philippines, Oceania, and the EU.
Dermot O'Connell
Head of Retail
With over 30 years of experience in operations, commercial buying and marketing, Townview welcomed Dermot to lead our retail team in 2024. He has held senior roles in Ireland's leading multiple food retailers, food wholesalers, and food service companies. Dermot is responsible for developing and launching successful sales strategies for several International and domestic food brands.
Brian Dillion
Head of Finance
Brian joined Townview Food Solutions in 2015 and offers extensive experience in accounting and global trade. He holds a BSC Honours in Business and Finance from the University of Ulster and an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business from ACCA. Brian is also working towards his ACCA qualification in June.
